. . . and it's going out over the internet to find lots of information about dance for you. Sometimes this can take a while, so I hope you can be patient. It's worth it.

I've set up an Amazon Store with a whole load of dance related books, dvds and music cds for you to choose from. My aim is to make things easy for you to find, so here are direct links to each of the sections.
I want to improve the organisation of the store to make it easier for you to find things. You can help by participating in this poll, or more generally by using the feedback page.
There are three ways you can give me feedback about DanceMaps.
At the bottom right hand corner of the site is a chat application. This is the most immediate way you can a message to me. If I'm on-line we'll be able to chat about any technical problems you're having with the site, what you like and what you dislike.
For more enduring discussions I've set up a Google Group about DanceMaps. You can access this by email, or by visiting the groups website.

I've set up some poll that you can use to vote on different issues. These are spread through the site, appearing on the most relevant pages.
Here are two general ones.
This site is under active development. It is beta code written on a beta platform. I can't guarantee the availability, performance, reliability or accuracy of the site or any information it contains.
Having said that . . . I think it's pretty cool. I hope you find it useful. Enjoy . . .
This site was developed using Google Mashup Editor and Yahoo Pipes. The tools I used when coding and designing include Eclipse, Firebug and The Gimp. The image of the leaping dancer was taken by Jacom Stephens and is available from iStockPhoto. The site's data feeds are provided by Google Base, YouTube and Amazon.
Much of the information this site displays would not be available without the freely and openly given effort of individuals who upload, tag and organise. Without their contribution the internet would be a far duller place.
Me. My name's Phil Rees and I'm a freelance developer. Online I tend to abbreviate my name to "phrees" as there's lots of Phil Rees's in the world and I'm just one of them. So, if you bump into someone with that nickname in one of the chat areas chances are it's me. Don't be shy. Let me know what you think of the site.
